A quiet, spoken service using the ancient language of the Book of Common Prayer. With sermon.
10:00am Parish Eucharist
The main Sunday service, with sermon, communion, and choir, followed by coffee and refreshments in the church.
4:30pm Choral Evensong
Resumes September 13th.
Evensong is a choir-led, music-filled, reflective service, according to the Book of Common Prayer.
Sept 13th - Welcome Back Sunday
The Choristers will be with us once again, teachers and students will have begun their new year, and church activities will resume. It is a new Season of Creation, the perfect time for new beginnings. Please join us whether you're new to St John's, are returning after summer holidays, or haven't been away at all!
After the 10am Parish Eucharist, the annual Welcome Back Picnic will honour the end of Summer and the beginning of the Autumn routine. There will be sandwiches and potluck salads, savouries and sweets, and coffee and tea, inside the church, rain or shine!
At 430pm will be the first weekly Choral Evensong of the season, sung by a quartet of Choristers. This beautiful, musical, and meditative evening service is the perfect vehicle for thought, prayer, and mindfulness as the days shorten and the air grows cooler.
