Back when I lived in London, England, I had a great hairdresser called David Gale. I don't know if David is still working, but it wasn't just his haircutting skills I appreciated, his candour and openness in conversation, and his musical taste were impressive too. On one visit David was playing the Album "Beyond the Missouri Sky" by Charlie Haden and Pat Metheny, which caught my attention to the degree that I went out and bought the CD the next day. On my next visit we were talking about the tracks on the album and David said, "the only way I can describe that album is 'spiritual.'"
Music can take us deep within ourselves. Here's one of the tracks from that Album, not (ironically) the closing track called 'Spiritual', but a cover of the beautiful Cinema Paradiso Main Theme.
