Reflection

From parishioner Dorothy Chuhran : Here is a painting by Marc Chagall it is displayed in the Chagall Museum in Nice, France. The museum was built to his specifications to house a particular collection, this being one of them.  It is difficult to choose just one, but here it is - The Expulsion from Paradise.

From Cornelia: This painting  subverts the negative interpretation about the fall of humanity, reflecting the belief that eating from the tree led to knowledge and free will rather than 'a fall into sin' - it's like Chagalls' painting is not only about the fall but about restoration too.

It's a beautiful picture.

Scripture

And he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb,  in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His servants will serve Him;  they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.
