On Maundy Thursday we remember the story of the 'Last Supper' that Jesus shared with his closest friends.
As part of our Choral Eucharist we will be invited to hear the story of the Last Supper, and see the priest wash the feet of volunteers as a symbol of Jesus' calling us to serve one another in love, we also remember that this day is when the act of sharing bread and wine we call 'Holy Communion' or 'The Eucharist' was instituted.
There will be special hymns and anthems to commemorate this event, led by a full choir. Alastair, the Incumbent, will lead the service and preach.
At the end of the service we hear of Jesus' betrayal and arrest in the garden of Gethsemane, and the altars and chancel are cleared of all decoration in preparation for the solemnity of Good Friday.
