I don't remember who gave me this gift for my second Christmas after I arrived at St John's - but a simple line drawing means so much to me, both because it was a gift and because what it shows makes me smile. Here I am (I did look a little different seven years ago) looking serene and prayerful, whilst our life size stuffed camel glides along below me - it was drawn at our Christmas Pageant in 2014 and the camel was always a highlight of the Christmas season. It's still around somewhere in our Church basement, but was retired a couple of years ago - it's final appearance was in the Pride parade, I believe, in 2017.

For the memory, for the gift, thank you to the giver, and to the God of Small Things

How we laughed, how we sang for joy!
Then the other nations said about us,
“The Lord did great things for them.”   Psalm 126.2
