Rhoda is married to the Rev. Derek Dunwoody and has been an active member of St. John’s for thirteen years. Although brought up as an Anglican, she spent eight years attending Quaker Meetings where she learned to appreciate the process of sitting in silence.
At St. John’s, she has been on the Chancel Guild, co-ordinated the Prayer Teams, been a member of the Church Building Development Group and co-chaired Quo Vadis. Currently she is part of The Ministry of Healing, the Monday afternoon Book Study, the committee for upgrading the sound system, and Parish Council.
Previous work experience included commercial interior design in Ottawa, senior construction co-ordination for Carleton University, project management country-wide for Canada Post, and project management for the BC provincial government. This included all preliminary design, planning, approvals, and public presentations for the restoration of St. Ann’s Academy as well as project managing all planning design and approvals for the new entrance lobby to the Royal British Columbia Museum including the Imax Theatre which, as many of you know, has been operational for some time.
Rhoda is a member of the Contemplative Society, does Contemplative Prayer regularly, and enjoys going to both silent and educational retreats. Her artistic endeavours include quilting as well as wild and crazy paintings.
