The Alliance Club is a drop-in centre for street youth, located in downtown Victoria. Hot meals are provided for young people at the centre a few nights a week. St John’s contributes to the centre by stocking their freezer with casseroles that are heated and served to the youth as needed.

Our cooking group includes parishioners and non-parishioners. Before COVID-19 shut us down, we met bi-monthly in the kitchen of the Parish Hall on the third Tuesday to cook for the Alliance Club.

We currently are asking team members to cook casseroles at home and deliver them to the church. We are also doing this on a bi-monthly basis. Casseroles are picked up by the Alliance staff who are most grateful for this continued support.

We miss the fun and camaraderie of our community “chop and chat” sessions and hope that we can resume them before too long.

If you have questions or would like to get involved with cooking for the Alliance Club, please contact Christine Scott or Gerry Melville. More cooks are always welcome!
