Faith in Action (FIA) is a group of people from diverse faith traditions and spiritual paths who are united by their concern for the poor and vulnerable in our province.
Our focus is to encourage governments and community groups to address the root causes of poverty in BC by creating systems of support that recognize the inherent dignity and worth of all citizens. All who share this vision of a just and caring community are welcome to join us as we explore ways to promote transformative change and model the compassion we wish to see in the world.
We hold information meetings from time to time, and would love to add your name to our mailing list. At our meetings, we look for answers to questions such as: Why is it acceptable for some citizens to live on our streets and sleep in shelters, rather than in the sanctity and security of their own homes? Are food banks the best way to ensure that poor people have access to healthy food choices? Why are front-line agencies over-flowing with people needing help, especially when the BC economy is performing well? How can we take politics out of caring for the vulnerable?
Visit our website http://www.victoriafaithinaction.ca or Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/FaithinactionBC?ref=hl for for information about anything we may be doing in the community. If you have further questions about FIA, if you wish to be added to our mailing list, or wish to get involved, contact pwilmot [at] shaw.ca (subject: Faith%20in%20Action) (Peggy Wilmot). We would love to include you in our work.
