The Community Choir is the choral ensemble at St John's for those who love to sing, but may not have the sight-reading skills, choral experience, or available time for the more demanding repertoire and schedule of the Choristers of St John.

The members of the community choir are currently working on a "virtual hymn sing" project in cooperation with one of the choirs from the Cathedral. More details coming soon!

To sing with the Community Choir of St. John the Divine:

Please contact Music Director, David Stratkauskas to arrange a short interview.

Requirements for membership are the ability to carry a tune and to learn music by ear.

In "non-COVID times", the Community Choir leads the congregational singing once a month, and offers an anthem or motet and a setting of the psalm of the day.

The choir normally rehearses in the fortnight preceding the Sunday they sing, from September through the end of May, with breaks after Christmas and Easter.
