Faith in Foundation

The sacristan, who wears a white robe, assists the priest by overseeing the administration of the Eucharist. Tasks include the preparation of the vessels, pouring the wine and water into the chalices before consecration, making sure there is enough bread and wine for everyone, then cleaning the vessels after communion.

The sacristans work closely with the members of the chancel guild.

Three individuals take turns to perform these duties at all services.
