February 9  “Spirituality: Relationship with Cosmos and Earth”

Maureen Wild Sister of Charity, is co-founder of Glenairley - Centre for Earth and Spirit (East Sooke, BC), freelance educator and retreat guide on topics of Earth awareness and a new cosmology.

Sister Maureen will explore our intimate relationship with reality, from the heavens to the Earth. 

 

February 16  "Spirituality and First Nations Cultural Thought" 

Martin Brokenleg A member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe in the US, has been an Anglican priest for 34 years, and is the director of Native Ministries at the Vancouver School of Theology.

The Sioux way of life incorporates spirituality into everything. 

What are the implications for the secular world?

 

February 23 "The Heart of Conflict: A Spirituality of Transformation"

Elinor Powell Retired physician. Since joining the Peace movement, she has been active in teaching and practicing conflict management.

Dr. Powell claims that our spirituality is evident and engaged right from the beginning of a conflict. In the midst of the turmoil, challenges bring forth the spirit as we become aware of our core values and ability to care.

 

March 2     "Taming the Ego: Perspectives on Masculine Spirituality"

Richard Groves the founding director of the Sacred Art of Living Center in Oregon. Richard leads retreats based on the wisdom, experience and teaching of Richard Rohr.

Our culture is hungry for authentic, masculine spirituality.

Families, individuals and society will benefit from understanding the unique ways that men find meaning, purpose and healing.

 

 

March 9 “Spirituality and Rough Waters: The Nature of Anglicanism”

Andrew Hutchison, Archbishop and Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada As Primate, is the spiritual leader of the Anglican Church of Canada, symbol of unity and pastoral care, and ambassador to the global Anglican church. He chairs the nation-wide meetings of the Anglican Church of Canada.

 The nature of Anglicanism is that it is always "messy".

It is out of that context that we seek God in the middle of the current controversies in the Anglican Communion. 

 

March 16 "Loving in Stressful Times: Spirituality in Contemporary Life"

Bonnelle Strickling Jungian psychotherapist and spiritual director who also teaches and leads workshops and retreats in Canada, the United States and Europe.

Psychology and spirituality are profoundly interconnected.

Lent is a time to encounter the complementary energies of spirit and psyche, and to grow into deeper consciousness and prayer.
