Hexaphone

Hexaphone is a six member vocal ensemble performing music of many styles and periods with particular interest in new Canadian works. The programme will include Brahms, Cornelius, Raminsh, Whitacre, and Victoria pieces from the early days of St. John's.

The Victoria Children’s Choir, the Victoria Good News Choir and the Open Door Choir at Our Place will present the second concert in St. John’s 150th Anniversary Concert Series.
Established in 2001 the Victoria Children's Choir has been pursuing the highest standards of training and performance. Directed by Madeleine Humer, the Choir accepts children aged 8 to 15 who like to sing. In its short history, the Victoria Children's Choir has performed regularly with the Victoria Symphony and Pacific Opera Victoria as well as at major international conferences and festivals.
The Victoria Good News Choir Society was founded in 1997 by Louise Rose who has served as the choir’s accompanist, music director and resident arranger for all of the years of the choir’s existence. Its membership is intergenerational, culturally, religiously and spiritually diverse. Its repertoire is composed of arrangements of music from the sixteenth century to funk to rock ‘n roll to gospel to spirituals. The choir is based on the premise that not only can everyone sing, everyone should sing! |
