Beaver Lake
July 20, 2001
The Diviners set off on this walk around Beaver
and Elk lake at 6pm. It takes exactly two hours to complete the circuit.
A very pleasant walk entirely on the flat. The weather was picture perfect
again!! On completion of the walk we drove off in a cavalcade to Blackie's
restaurant on the Patricia Bay highway. Traffic was grim mostly because
the highway was in the process of being re-tarred. By the time we arrived
at Blackies they were closed -- so we continued on to the Cordoba Bay
Express restaurant in Cordoba Bay. By now we were more than ready for
some refreshments. Another lesson we learned from this walk -- that
is not to park at the boat ramp parking area. This is the only place
that boaters can go to launch their boats and park their trailers, and
at this time of year they were busy and we were buying up to much space.
Having realized the situation we moved our cars prior to the walk to
a car park closer to the highway. We passed many people on the walk
who were out, like us, enjoying the beautiful evening.
