Readers new and returning to Aspire are invited to peruse these pages & notice what an active parish St John the Divine is. Indeed it was not easy to fill these pages – everyone was very busy putting their talent to work in areas ranging from worship to SJD’s extended mission such as the Chancel Guild, food bank, Emergency night shelter & various social justice issues. They will share their stories soon.
Those of us who have been with Aspire since its beginnings will notice changes in its evolution. (We want to thank Aspire founders Marilyn & Tom Mahan for their hard work through the years.) Indeed with this editorial shift, Aspire experiences a noticeable punctuated equilibrium.
The new Aspire will focus on three themes dear to SJD:

Please contribute art, thoughts & commentary to our Advent issue by Oct 31. The Aspire team particularly welcomes photos (September square dance again?) & ‘snippets’ & Planned Giving articles. (Any mistakes you spot in this issue are due to the absence of a 5th member of the editorial team – an unfilled vacancy. Perhaps that is you. Join us.)
