Communication Committee
Terms of Reference

Preamble

The role of the communication committee is to apply advice, expertise and production skill to both internal and external communication for the Parish in order to increase visibility, attendance and participation in the day-to-day life of the community of St. John the Divine.

Activities

1. The Committee will provide advice and expertise to all other Parish Committees, clergy and staff as required regarding
   • Identification of communication audiences
   • Design of messages to those audiences
   • Identification of the most effective media and approaches for communicating messages to those audiences
2. Committee members will create, produce and maintain a number of communication media, including
   • St. John the Divine Website
   • Various brochures, booklets newsletters etc. as required by Parish Committees and clergy.
3. The Committee will establish and maintain contacts with various media outlets in order to
   • Improve St. John the Divine's community profile
   • Publicize activities of the Parish such as
     1. Worship options
     2. Music programs
     3. Youth activities
     4. Educational opportunities
     5. Camp Columbia
     6. Seniors Services
     7. Community Service activities
     8. Etc.
